CERN VISIT

There will be a visit to CERN on Monday 10 October.

The programme (revised 6 October) is given below. It includes visits to the SM18 magnet test facility, the CERN Control Centre (CCC) from which the LHC is operated, to the ATLAS and CMS experiments, and to the Globe of Innovation.

After the visit, participants will have about half an hour to collect their luggage from the hostel before catching the bus to Les Houches at 17.00.

The visit to CERN for the FAPPS11 participants is being sponsored by CERN, including board and lodgings from dinner on Sunday 9 October until lunch on Monday 10 October. Rooms will be reserved in the CERN hostel for the night of 9-10 October. Meal vouchers, valid for use in CERN Restaurant 1, will be provided for dinner on 9 October, and for breakfast and lunch on 10 October. An information pack explaining the arrangements will be given to each participant when they check-in at the CERN hostel (Building 39).
